Renames Street in Honor of Corona Soldier killed in Iraq,Council Member Hiram Monserrate, the New York Naval & Marine Youth Cadets Color Guard, Cadets and Officers, today joined with the family of late Sergeant Jose Gomez, with representatives of U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and community residents to rename the corner of 104th Street and 37th Avenue in Corona, Queens, NY. Army Reserve Sgt. Jose Gomez, 23, of the U.S. Army's Fourth Infantry Division, he sacrifice for his country by a roadside bomb in Baghdad on April 28th, 2006. His life and memory are now a permanent part of our community and our country. Rest in Peace and God Bless You.Semper Fi.

New York City Council and Hon. Council Member Hiram Monserrate, invited the New York Naval & Marine Youth Cadets Color Guard, cadets officers and parents to the official opening ceremonies in a salute to the National Flags of the United States of America and Colombia in celebration of the 196th Anniversary of The Independence of Colombia. A reception was fallow in the Rotunda. well done "bravo Zulu" cadets.

Operation Safe Kids-National Missing Childrens Day. Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association and the New York Naval & Marine Youth Cadets, the Center for Missing and Exploited Childrens, did provide a digitally capture phothograph and fingerprints to over 350 community children's under the age of 18 years old, using the Children's Identification System. By implementing the latest technology, FLEOA and the Center for missing and exploited Children's can produce a document containing the child's phothograph and fingerprints, as well as spaces for biographical information in the event that any child is missing or abducted, the document can be reproduced immediately for mas distribution to local, State and federal law enforcement agencies.Thank you P.S. 19 Beacon Program.
